It's been over 2 years, but I finally got back to Bridal Veil falls again today.
I wasn't able to visit it when I drove by on my way out to Victoria, but I made damn sure I had the time today.

This is part of my "Trip to Victoria BC". Driving from Alberta to Victoria (and back), stopping as often as I can to take pictures in the short daylight hours. Not to mention when they say "closed for the season" in the mountians, they don't me 'no one is there', they mean 'there is a 3 foot windrow of snow blocking the road'

:) This is such an incredibly beautiful shot. What did you use to take this, if I may ask?

Thank you very much for the comment.

As for what I used, just what is listed in the meta data :)

My Olympus E-510, the 14-54mm lens that came with my E-500, and a polarizing filter.
Of course with the long shutter time, I had my tripod as well.

Only editing was a bit of a crop, and hitting the "I'm feeling lucky" and "auto color" buttons in Picasa ^_^ (which I pretty much all I ever do to my shots, I don't have photoshop, and don't really want it)

Love the subject and the light and dark contrast. I would crop to the tree trunks left and right

Thanks.
Personally, I like this crop of it. I actually have some shots that were zoomed in to where you suggest, I just didn't want to post 30 shots of the same falls if they weren't that different.

personally i like this a lot!! i can't find anything negative to it. i look for a certain mood in the pictures I look at and this one certainly has it and is all I need :D

if I was to take another shot of this place id lay on the edge where the waters end looking up and take a shot

Tried that! Too much spray, even from 20-30 feet away! (doesn't look like it i know)

also, at the time, it was fairly dark on the ground, and even with the very overcast sky (it was trying to rain) the clouds would be much too blown out if they were in the shot. So looking up at it was hard to do.

I don't do anything like combining shots, so taking 2 exposures isn't really an option for me.

I like this to, but also when I first saw it, it screamed help me! I need some Grad ND Filters! Get some. Like yesterday. This will allow you to slow the shutter more and also keep your foreground nice and bright. You can acheive that also through layer masking in PS (the foreground part) and I would honestly do it, because that is wayyyy to dark. That really is about all that sticks out here, rest is awesome! Great work, just lighten the surroundings outside that waterfall

I agree on the Grad ND filters. I ordered some about 3 weeks before I went on this trip, but they never arrived. :(

Actually thats why I had to crop it the way I did (though I like the crop) there was still some sky showing at the top, and of course it was blown out, even though it was compleatly overcast.
